Are you passionate about performing and dance?  Are you looking for an excellent pathway for high-level dance training? 

 

The Hagley Dance Project is a part-time dance course aimed at experienced dance students wishing to take their dance training to the next level and prepare for tertiary study. The course focuses on a variety of contemporary dance techniques, choreography, wellbeing, teaching skills and performance opportunities.

Hagley DANCE Project is an independent, part-time dance course attached to Hagley College in Otautahi, Christchurch, Aotearoa New Zealand.  Hagley Dance Project is an off shoot of the full-time Hagley Dance Company course which celebrated 21 years of providing high quality tuition and Contemporary performance experiences to young people all over the country.

 

The Hagley Dance Project course offers flexibility, as it is currently spread across 8 hours over the course of a week.  It allows students the option to work part-time and study dance.  If your goal is to gain NCEA credits towards university entrance there is the option to top up your timetable with other subjects offered at Hagley to create a full-time program and also the option to gain NCEA Level 3 Dance credits.  Past students have also studied part time at university or on other courses or programs alongside the Hagley Dance Project.

 

The aim is that after completing the Hagley Dance Project course you will be prepared to audition and study dance at the Otago or Auckland University or UNITEC Performing and Screen Arts, major in Contemporary Dance.
